Phase 1 Completed
Date: July 20, 2025
Location: Wellawatta Beach, Colombo
Collaborators: AIESEC Club – University of Kelaniya
On July 20, 2025, we proudly launched Phase 1 of our coastal conservation campaign with a successful beach cleanup at Wellawatta Beach, in collaboration with the passionate team from the AIESEC Club of the University of Kelaniya.
This initiative marked more than just a cleanup—it was a call to action. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds came together with a shared mission: to protect our oceans and restore the beauty of our coastline. Through this collaborative effort, we not only removed waste and debris but also reignited the community’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
What We Achieved:
Mobilized a dedicated team of volunteers and students.
Strengthened partnerships between youth organizations and local stakeholders.
Collected and responsibly disposed of plastic waste, fishing nets, and other harmful debris.
Raised awareness about the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.
Our Mission:
To amplify voices and actions that safeguard our oceans and inspire meaningful, lasting change.
This is just the beginning. Phase 1 has laid a strong foundation, and with each phase ahead, we aim to build momentum, foster community engagement, and lead by example in the fight against marine pollution.
Stay tuned for upcoming events and join us as we continue our journey toward cleaner beaches and healthier oceans. Every action counts, and together, we can make waves of change
