ClubG: Uniting Rotaract Members through Thrilling Adventures

The new year kicked off with an exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping event at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. ClubG, a modified version of the popular real-life game PubG, took center stage, promising an exciting twist that would leave everyone on the edge of their seats.

As the event commenced, participants were divided into three teams and tasked with choosing strategic hiding spots. The gamemaster revealed that five red flags were hidden throughout the premises, and the mission was simple: find the flags. However, here’s where the twist came into play. Contestants could eliminate players from rival teams by capturing a clear picture of their faces and sending it to the game’s WhatsApp group. Points were awarded for successful eliminations and flag discoveries, keeping the competition fierce and intense.

To add a touch of nostalgia and amp up the excitement, an intense game of “1 2 3 Bumblebee” followed the first round. Laughter and shouts filled the air as participants relished in the joy of friendly competition.

When the games concluded, it was Team 2 who emerged victorious with the highest score, claiming the day’s ultimate glory. As the adrenaline settled, an introductory session on Rotaract was conducted by our dedicated Club President and past leaders. This moment served as a reminder of our club’s purpose and the impact we can create as a united force.

The brainchild of our enthusiastic Vice President of the Club Service Avenue, Rtr. Chalitha Warsavithana, ClubG aimed to strengthen the bond among our Rotaract members. With the invaluable support of Rtr. Sanduni Wijerathne from the Sergeant-at-Arms team, as well as the Club Service and PR avenues, the event flourished. The project committee consisted of Dinal De Silva, Sandun Hettiarachchi, Shelni Wijesekara, Sanidi Edirisinghe and Deedat Safeer.

ClubG attracted members from all batches, and even the fuel crisis couldn’t deter the enthusiastic turnout. It successfully achieved its objectives of introducing Rotaract to new members, fostering strong connections among our dedicated team, and promoting fellowship while engaging members in future projects.

ClubG showcased the spirit of Rotaract in a thrilling and fun-filled manner, reminding us that beyond our individual roles, we are part of a vibrant community working towards positive change. With hearts full of excitement and memories to cherish, we look forward to the next adventure that will continue to strengthen the bonds we share.
