Designed as a refreshing escape from demanding academic routines, this event brought together students from across the University of Colombo for an unforgettable experience filled with puzzles, teamwork, and laughter.
Creating the Experience: How the Day Unfolded
- Setting the Scene: A World of Mystery
From the moment participants stepped into the venue, they were immersed in the Treasure Hunt atmosphere. With themed decorations, cleverly hidden clues, and an air of suspense, the escape rooms were carefully designed to spark curiosity and excitement. The transformation of ordinary meeting rooms into puzzle-filled challenge zones set the perfect tone for the adventure ahead. - The Challenge: Think Fast, Work Together
A total of 10 teams, each consisting of 6–10 members were allocated 25 minutes to crack clues, solve puzzles, and find their way out. With two puzzles in each room and four puzzles in total, the challenge demanded logical thinking, creativity, leadership, and most importantly teamwork.
As time ticked away, rooms echoed with intense discussions, bursts of excitement, and triumphant cheers when clues finally clicked into place. - Healthy Competition, Unforgettable Fun
Adding to the thrill was the competitive spirit. Teams raced against time, knowing that the group with the shortest escape time would be crowned the winners. While prizes awaited the fastest teams, every participant walked away with a sense of achievement, strengthened friendships, and memories worth keeping. - Behind the Scenes: Teamwork in Action
While participants took on the puzzles, Rotaractors worked tirelessly behind the scenes handling registrations, guiding teams, managing time slots, and ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event. The seamless execution reflected the dedication and unity of the Club Service Avenue and its volunteers.
More Than a Game: A Meaningful Reflection
Escape Room 2025 was more than just an entertaining challenge. It became a space where students connected beyond lectures and exams, discovering the value of collaboration, communication, and trust.
